Updates

  • Venstra Medical (#LSIEurope25 Presenter) has developed what it believes to be the world’s smallest and most powerful percutaneous ventricular assist device (pVAD) for treating cardiogenic shock. This breakthrough pVAD technology delivers over 7L/min of flow at physiological pressures, offering full left ventricular support in the cath lab using no catheter or sheath larger than 9Fr. With 7 granted patents, the system is designed for rapid deployment, minimal blood trauma, and total support, an approach shown to reduce infarct size in heart attack patients. Recent studies, including the DanGer Shock trial, continue to validate the use of pVADs for patients in cardiogenic shock, reinforcing the clinical relevance of Venstra Medical’s innovation. The company has recently achieved several major milestones: • Awarded a $1 million grant from MTPConnect’s Targeted Translation Research Accelerator (TTRA), part of Australia’s Medical Research Future Fund. (June 2025) • Featured in Forbes Australia for its innovation and recent funding. (June 2025) • Successfully demonstrated 20-day duration benchmarks using advanced in vitro testing, as well as multi-day endpoints in early chronic animal models delivering exceptional hydraulic performance, low hemolysis, and ease of implantation. (June 2025) Congratulations to the Venstra Medical team on all of the recent success. We’re excited to announce that Co-Founder and CEO Martin Cook has been selected to present Venstra Medical at LSI Europe ‘25 this September 7-11 in London. Join us in London to meet with Martin and learn more about Venstra Medical.

  • Adtec Healthcare Limited has raised $12 million in funding led by AIPO Fund, with participation from SG Biomedical. The investment will support global expansion, accelerate new product development, and enable the company’s entry into the U.S. market. A spin-out from Japan’s Adtec Plasma Technology Co., Ltd., Adtec Healthcare was established in June 2023 and builds on more than 20 years of Cold Plasma expertise. The company launched the first medical Cold Plasma device of its kind, now used across Europe for advanced wound care and infection control. The company’s SteriPlas Cold Plasma medical device is a strong antibacterial with proven clinical efficacy for the management of chronic wounds, surgical site infections, and diabetic foot ulcers, typically complicated with antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and biofilm. Where conventional therapies, such as antibiotics, fail to destroy superbugs protected within biofilm, leading to a worsening infection, the SteriPlas delivers a quick, painless, and fast-acting solution with faster treatment times than standard of care and reduced hospital stays. Congratulations to LSI Alumni Mary McGovern and the entire Adtec Healthcare team on this major milestone. We’re excited to announce that CEO Mary McGovern has been selected to present Adtec Healthcare at LSI Europe ‘25 this September 7-11 in London. Join us in London to meet with Mary and learn more about Adtec Healthcare. #LSIEurope25
