We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates from our Global Health Internship (GHI) programme, through which we support public health efforts in low- or middle-income countries: 🌍 In June, we proudly welcomed our first US-based GHI, Letícia Hágale, to our Boston office. Letícia is working to identify and synthesise evidence on the cost-effectiveness of Aedes aegypti control strategies in Brazil to inform public health policy and support resource allocation decisions within the Sistema Único de Saúde. 🎤 We were delighted to sponsor the Cambridge Global Health Partnerships Impact Celebration and Awards 2025 on 26th June, where members gave powerful talks about the work they are doing to make a positive impact on global health, demonstrating how knowledge exchange, partnership and shared learning can transform practice globally. 🎉 We’re celebrating Kehinde Abereoje’s achievement as the runner-up in the Global Health Practice category at the Cambridge Global Health Partnerships poster competition. Her poster, 'From Evidence to Implementation: A Family Planning Toolkit for Primary Healthcare Providers in Nigeria,' builds on her impactful 2024 GHI project. Congratulations, Kehinde! 🎓 Coming this summer/autumn, we look forward to hosting up to four UK-based GHIs through our partnership with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London and University of Cambridge. Our commitment to being a force for good is central to everything we do. Stay tuned, and follow #CostelloMedicalGHI for more updates! If you’re interested in learning more about the programme, please get in touch with Aditi Mehta.

We were delighted to welcome Deirdre de Barra and Jeanette Nkwate from Tommy's, The Pregnancy and Baby Charity, and Elizabeth Idowu to our London office recently. It was a fantastic day as we hosted a voiceover recording session for a pro bono animation project we are honoured to support. The animation aims to raise awareness of the warning signs during pregnancy that require urgent medical attention — an important message to support pregnant women. Stay tuned as the final animation will be shared over the coming weeks across social media platforms and the Tommy’s website. We are proud to deliver projects like these free of charge, which allow us to give back by sharing our expertise with charities and non-profit organisations. If your non-profit could benefit from scientific support, please contact Saoirse Leonard for more information. #Charity #ProBono #Awareness #GivingBack #NonProfit #MaternalHealth

🌍 Two weeks out from the 2nd IMPACCT RWE Summit Europe 2025, and I am still feeling inspired and motivated by these evolving themes! 🔹 The terminology varied—some spoke of Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP), others of Integrated Evidence Generation (IEG) or Integrated Evidence Generation Plans (IEGP)—but the industry-wide acknowledgment of the importance of early IEP and fostering collaboration between clinical development and medical affairs teams was the clear takeaway. Despite the different names, it’s great to see consensus forming around this crucial approach. 🔹 Innovative methodologies like federated data networks, natural language processing, and digital twins are revolutionizing how we create robust, patient-centric insights. 🔹 Early stakeholder alignment across medical, HEOR, regulatory, and commercial teams is crucial for accelerating pathways from research to real-world impact. 🔹 Approaches such as external control arms and adaptive data collection are enhancing the efficiency and relevance of clinical trials. 🔹 And perhaps most importantly, collaboration—within pharma, between regulators, payers, and public partners—is key to truly transforming healthcare and delivering personalized medicine. Did you know that #CostelloMedical’s Study Management team provides specialized CRO services for RWE and observational studies? While therapy-area expertise has its place, RWE studies are complex and require a different set of methodologies and compliance considerations—never simply “mini” clinical trials. Our team’s specialized knowledge helps ensure your projects are efficient, compliant, and impactful—saving costs, time, and resources. Interested in collaborating with experienced RWE specialists? Get in touch—reach out here [mailto:[email protected]] or visit [https://lnkd.in/ekNVDTyV]. Let’s work together — we can turn your RWE ambitions into impactful, compliant studies that drive healthcare innovation. #RealWorldEvidence #RWE #StudyManagement #HealthcareInnovation #DataDriven #Pharma #IEP #CostelloMedical

I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's thought provoking Patient Centricity and Engagement Conference and the opportunity to meet so many like-minded and inspiring people! One of my key takeaways was to be increasingly conscious of the words I choose to use around working with patients - engagement, partnership, integration, empowerment etc - all carry different meaning and should be used purposefully to avoid diluting them into mere 'buzzwords'. There was also a powerful theme around building trust between patients and the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, honing in on how we all can, and should, be involved in nurturing this. Between sessions, Emma Phillips and I asked people at our booth how often they involve patients in their work, as well as how often they measure the impact of this work. Unsurprisingly, most people work with patients, but the extent to which they measure impact varies considerably. We had lots of interesting discussion about this, including the requirement for established frameworks and processes to facilitate this before, during and after projects, as well as how challenging it can be to meaningfully measure impact. Whilst not straightforward, everyone agreed on the importance of this to ensure projects are not just 'checking a box' and are actually having a meaningful impact on people's lives. There is lots more to explore here so feel free to send me a message if you are interested! #patientengagement
