Meet Kristina- academic, editor, and someone who’s never stopped learning. Her path started in Belarus, moved to Spain when she was 10, and then on to Prague, where she learned Czech in just nine months so she could access free education. “Learning can fit into anyone’s life, at any age.” She’s studied everything from international relations to economics, philosophy, psychology, counselling, and coaching. Beyond the books, she runs Clever Magazine, a non-profit that explores the future of learning. When it came time for her next adventure, Cambridge just felt right. “The global reputation of Cambridge means top-tier academic and professional training.” She’s now studying part-time with Professional and Continuing Education. “It’s the perfect balance- I can dive deep into my studies while managing everything else.” “A whole toolkit of knowledge and strategies that take my coaching and academic work to the next level.” Her advice? “Go all in. Studying at Cambridge is a chance to learn from the best, connect with people from all walks of life, and grow in ways you didn’t expect.” Feeling inspired by Kristina’s journey? #Coaching #CambridgePACE #LifelongLearning

Professor Gilly Carr, our Academic Director in Archaeology and Professor of Conflict Archaeology and Holocaust Heritage, is in Warsaw this month for an excavation in the former wartime ghetto. She was invited to join the team by Polish site director Dr Jacek Konik from the Muzeum Niepodległości and is working alongside Michal Grabowski from the University of Rzeszów. The team is excavating sites of wartime tenement buildings, spaces marked by everyday life, resistance and loss. Finds so far include a Hanukkah oil lamp, Shabbat candles, decorative elements of Torah scrolls, items of metalwork and a piece of decorated tile. These are small objects, rich with meaning. Gilly also visited the Jewish cemetery, where mass graves and memorials honour the thousands who died in the Warsaw Ghetto. 📍 Warsaw Ghetto excavation 📷 Photographs shared by Professor Gilly Carr, with permission from the excavation team and Polish site director Click the link to discover more about the Diploma in Archaeology: Conflict Archaeology and Heritage: https://lnkd.in/edf6rJ9a

We’re thrilled to share that Sarah Ormrod, Director of our International Summer Programme, has been honoured by the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) Partnerships Award for her outstanding contribution to lifelong education! 🌍📚 Sarah has been a guiding force in international education since joining the Institute of Continuing Education in 1987. From pioneering global online learning during the pandemic to championing access for underrepresented communities, Sarah’s legacy is one of inclusion, innovation, and international friendship. 💫 As Sarah reflects: “It's been wonderful working with partners across the globe, whether in conference presentations about running summer programmes or, more widely, with people in universities around the world, as we arrange for their students to come and study with us in the Summer. Some of those partnerships go back 30–40 years, but there are new connections every year.” Please join us in celebrating this richly deserved recognition as Sarah prepares to retire this Christmas after 38 remarkable years of service. #LifelongLearning #CambridgeSummer #GlobalEducation #UALLAward #ContinuingEducation #InternationalPartnerships

Meet Alex Carter, Associate Professor for Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies. Philosopher, educator, and all-round deep thinker. With a PhD and years of experience under his belt, he's built a career around big ideas and asking the tough questions. He’s found a love of teaching and developed a one-of-a-kind approach that gets people thinking differently. “I think one of the problems we have as philosophers is we think too much. It is really important to find application to philosophy, so in our courses we try to make sure the philosophy has input into how we live our lives.” He leads courses on everything from philosophy to creativity, helping learners shake up old ideas and sharpen their research skills. He’s also a Fellow and College Lecturer at Fitzwilliam College– and now, he’s here to teach you. Alex is all about sparking curiosity, pushing boundaries, and embracing challenging topics that lead to real growth. 🔎 Curious? Meet Kivlyn, a healthcare scientist and data analyst. Her passion for science began with her own experiences managing her health. Kivlyn’s journey to Cambridge began in Uganda. “I moved to the UK at 11. New culture, new school, and some health challenges. But those challenges helped shape who I am.” In 2019, she arrived in Cambridge to study biomedicine at Anglia Ruskin. “Cambridge gave me space to grow - peace, independence. It’s where I’ve built my life.” “The teaching felt personal, engaging, and so supportive. I’ve come a long way.” What does she value most? “The people. Every module brings together such a mix of backgrounds - and that diversity makes learning richer.” Kivlyn’s next step is a Master’s in Genomic Medicine through University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education. “I’d love to take everything I’ve learned and give back. One day, I hope to return to Uganda and raise awareness of genomics as a future health priority.” Feeling inspired by Kivlyn’s journey? ✨ Explore learning with University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education: https://lnkd.in/eNEQw_Z9 #GenomicMedicine #CambridgePACE #HigherEducation #AdultLearning #ProfessionalDevelopment
